Stonehenge24 March 2019I’ve passed these strange stones by the side of the A303 a number of times, but on our recent trip to Bath we took a turn off the main road to visit this ancient site.
Seal Sands16 March 2019Just down the road from Seaton Carew, amongst the heavy industrial plants of the Teeside estuary, is a spot we visit frequently. This is the most unlikely place to find wildlife and yet here, amongst the pylons and chimneys, is an incredible place; a home to hundreds of birds and around 100 seals.
Southampton8 March 2019Sea Southampton is probably best know for it’s port both for moving goods around the world, as well as being a popular place for cruise ships to call. On my visit it was a bit early in the season for cruise ships but there was plenty of other shipping traffic to observe navigating the River Test.
London Borough Market31 December 2018All within a few hundred yards of London Bridge station. The bustling Borough Market with it’s huge variety of stalls, selling the most amazing tasty food produce.
London Emirates Air Line14 November 2018On our recent trip to London we were staying close to the London City Airport and so took the opportunity to take the Emirates Air line cable car from Royal Victoria across to the Greenwich Peninsula (and back!).
Bioparco di Roma (The Zoo)14 September 2018If you visit Rome with kids, this place has to be on your list of places to go. In fact might be the only place kids will not moan about sore feet and high temperatures.
The City of Rome7 September 2018Rome is a bustling, vibrant city; as you might expect being the capital of Italy. In the height of summer temperatures soar to a point where exploring its ancient ruins becomes harder than it needs to be.
Burano and Murano, The Venice Lagoon25 August 2018A visit to Venice is not complete without a trip to some of the other Islands in the Venetian Lagoon by boat buses and ferries.
St Mark's Venice21 August 2018A trip to Venice has to include a visit to St Mark’s Square. Even if you don’t set out to find it as you weave your way through the narrow streets of Venice, you will at some point stumble out of the shadows into this most incredible plaza.
Venice at Sunrise14 August 2018Venice is such a unique place, built in the middle of the sea; a busy, bustling place, without a single car! It’s colourful buildings line the network of waterways and canals that criss-cross the city.
