Bioparco di Roma (The Zoo)

If you visit Rome with kids, this place has to be on your list of places to go. In fact might be the only place kids will not moan about sore feet and high temperatures.

Bioparco di Roma is one of the oldest animal reserves in Europe. It opened in 1911 originally more for entertainment than anything else. In more recent history it’s been renewed and renamed a “biopark” with a steer more towards conservation.

It is actually a very pleasant place to spend a couple of hours in Rome.
